Thornton Zero-Clearance Door Installation Guide

To ensure the safety and prevent any fire hazards, it is crucial to correctly install the Thornton Zero-Clearance Door. Please carefully read and understand the following instructions before initiating the installation process. The tools required for this installation are a #2 Phillips Screwdriver and an Electric Drill.

Hardware Included:

• Four (4) Self-tapping Screws.

Zero-Clearance Application Installation - Figure 1:

Identify the bottom of the door frame by locating the Center Wedge Clip inside the track at the center of the door frame. This clip signifies the bottom of a CV-2 enclosure. Two bullet catches in the track indicate the top of an FS-2 or CV-1 enclosure. Proper orientation is crucial for the smooth operation of the doors.

Position the frame in the fireplace, ensuring it is centered both left and right. Mark the fireplace at each hole. Remove the frame from the fireplace and proceed to drill a pilot hole with a 7/64” diameter at each of the four marked positions.

Re-position the frame into the fireplace, ensuring it remains centered left and right. Insert each self-tapping screw through the frame and securely screw into the fireplace using a #2 Phillips screwdriver. Be cautious not to over-tighten the screws. Carefully snug all screws up to the frame.

To center the enclosure, you may loosen one side and tighten the other, ensuring proper alignment.
