Our Stainless Steel Spark Arrestor by Bernard Dalsin MFG. CO. prevents burning embers from flying up your fireplace and out into the open area outside, where the embers could hit a tree or leaves, and start a fire. It comes with two layers of 3/4 "metal mesh which prevents anything from getting out of or into the flue. This spark arrestor is also intended to prevent animals, such as birds or bats, from entering the chimney to nest.
