Superior BRT4542 42" B-Vent Traditional Gas Fireplace: Classic Ambiance with Modern Ease

Bring the timeless appeal of a traditional wood-burning fireplace into your home with the Superior BRT4542 42" B-Vent Traditional Gas Fireplace—a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern convenience. Designed to replicate the authentic experience of a wood fire, this gas fireplace offers all the warmth and ambiance you love, without the mess or effort of maintaining a wood-burning fire.

The Superior BRT4542 features a multidimensional refractory ceramic log set that captures the natural look of split oak wood, complete with a deep, glowing ember bed. These realistic details create a cozy and inviting environment, perfect for gathering around with family or friends. The dual aluminized "U" tube burner produces beautiful, dancing yellow flames that can deliver up to 40,000 BTUs of heat, enough to warm even large spaces. Yet, thanks to the B-vent design, some of the heat is released through the vent pipe, ensuring your room stays comfortable without overheating.

One of the standout features of this fireplace is its radiant clean face design, which presents a sleek, unobstructed view of the fire. The white refractory herringbone brick panels inside the fireplace not only add to its traditional charm but also reflect and amplify the glow of the flames for a brighter, more immersive experience. For added convenience, the fireplace includes hidden gas controls and a flue damper with a safety shut-off switch, ensuring a clean, uncluttered appearance.

Designed with both aesthetics and functionality in mind, the Superior BRT4542 is remote-ready, allowing you to control the flames easily through a Millivolt or Electronic Ignition system. For even more convenience, you can add an optional remote control, giving you the ability to start your fire or adjust the heat settings without ever leaving your seat.

Other thoughtful design elements include hidden mesh screens that retract into discreet pockets when not in use, preserving the fireplace’s clean lines. The fireplace also comes pre-wired with a dual-access electrical J-box, making installation quick and easy. If you’re looking for enhanced performance, the optional outside air kit helps ensure a steady supply of fresh air to the fireplace, improving efficiency and flame quality.

With the option to add 42" standard bi-fold glass doors, you can further customize the look and functionality of the Superior BRT4542 to match your style and needs. The glass doors not only enhance the traditional appearance but also provide an extra layer of safety and heat containment when the fire is not in use.

Experience the warmth, beauty, and convenience of a traditional gas fireplace with the Superior BRT4542 42" B-Vent. Whether you’re seeking to create a cozy nook or elevate your entire living space, this fireplace offers the perfect balance of style, performance, and practicality.

Venting:

6" B-Vent 48" Length (6BV48) (2 Pieces) – This is a 48-inch long section of the B-Vent pipe. It is crucial because it forms the main structure of the venting system, carrying combustion gases safely out of the building.

6" B-Vent 0/12-6/12 Adjustable Flashing (6BVF) – Flashing is used where the vent passes through the roof to prevent water from leaking into the building. This adjustable flashing is designed for roofs with a pitch of 0/12 to 6/12 (a shallow slope), making it essential for sealing the vent and protecting the roof from weather damage.

6" B-Vent Quick Grip Firestop/Support (6BVFSPU) – This part serves two purposes. First, it acts as a firestop, preventing fire from spreading through gaps where the vent pipe passes through floors or walls. Second, it provides support to the vent pipe, ensuring stability and correct installation, especially in multi-story setups.

6" B-Vent High Wind Cap (6BVVTH) – The wind cap is placed on the top of the vent and is designed to prevent strong winds from disrupting the venting process or causing backdrafts. It also prevents debris, rain, or birds from entering the vent, ensuring safe and efficient vent operation.

Importance of the System

Together, these components are vital for:

  • Safe venting of combustion gases, which is critical for preventing carbon monoxide buildup inside the building.
  • Weather protection, ensuring that water and wind do not interfere with the vent system or the roof.
  • Fire safety, as the firestop prevents the spread of fire.
  • System stability, ensuring that the vent remains properly aligned and functional over time
