9" x 13" Seal Tight Chimney Damper/Cap For Energy Savings

The Seal Tight is a low-profile top mounted damper that can be used if you don't want a cap visible on your chimney.  If you prefer a cap, it can be installed beneath a chimney cap.  It provides a tight fit, using two types of gaskets, to help prevent heat or air conditioning loss.  The primary gasket sits in a channel inside the damper frame, while a liquid gasket sits underneath the front portion of the damper lid. It includes a 30', cut to fit cable, a fireplace bracket, cool-touch spring handle, mounting adhesive and hardware.

NOTE:  Don’t use on chimneys serving vented gas logs. Vented gas logs require the fireplace damper to be removed completely or fixed to a permanently open position; this is to assure that soot, fumes and carbon monoxide do not enter your home.  Use only on vent-free gas logs if approved by the appliance manufacturer and the local authority having jurisdiction. However, we don’t recommend it because the moisture generated from the gas logs could damage the chimney structure. Don’t use on chimneys serving other fuels, wood stoves or other appliances such as inserts, furnaces, etc.  Keep damper open while fireplace is in use.
