A wood-burning fireplace is not complete without a mesh curtain rod to keep naturally occurring sparks and embers inside the fireplace. A bypass rod is one continuous piece of rod that you install. There will be an overlapping of the mesh in the center where the roundabout is. This rod may need to be adjusted to fit your fireplace accurately and can be field cut using a hacksaw with a metal blade. Making adjustments to your bypass curtain rod should be done by someone familiar with the tools required.
