Be sure to take all measurements to the nearest 1/16” using a steel tape measure. Note any irregularities around the opening of the fireplace, such as projecting or recessed brick, and advise us Before you place an order. For complex custom applications, a photograph of the fireplace will prove very helpful.

Next, measure the height of the opening from the hearth (where the enclosure will sit) to either the bottom of the lintel bar or the bottom of the finishing material (brick, marble, etc.) We need the exact minimum height.

INSIDE FIT - Generally, the clearance tolerance gaps can be filled from the backside of the frame using high temp silicone RTV. If the gaps become excessive (as in a stone fireplace), it may be necessary to mortar in the enclosure. Clearance tolerance gaps are determined by the manufacturer according to your opening size.

The Newport door uses a 3/16" bar iron construction to offer you clean, sleek lines. Fireplace Door is available as either an overlap and inside fit door, You can make the enclosure truly yours with the plentiful option. Choice of glass tint, choice of handle styles and several powder coat finishes. The tempered safety glass used in this glass fireplace door is 3/16” thick.

It takes a bit of know-how to install this fireplace door, it is drilled into the mortar joints of your fireplace so it will be secure against the firebox and won’t come loose with time. Though this contemporary fireplace door doesn’t come with fireplace mesh, you can choose to add it. We highly recommend fireplace mesh as it can go a long way towards keeping your home and loved ones safe from the crackling fire. Yes assembly and drilling will be required to install the Newport fireplace door. 4 straps attach to the frame and the other end will need to be drilled into the mortar joints of your fireplace. All in all not a bad option and this guarantees that enclosure can be installed onto almost any masonry fireplace door.
