What Makes Our Doors Custom?

What is it, exactly, that makes a custom door so wonderful? Fireplace Doors Online is here to explain!

What makes our fireplace doors "custom"?Homeowners who have the luxury of enjoying an inviting fireplace or insert in their "castle" have been coming to us for years, seeking custom-made doors! We take joy in providing our customers with something exclusive and individual that is tailored to their specifications. But what is it, exactly, that makes a custom door so wonderful? Fireplace Doors Online is here to explain!

In the event that your fireplace doors have succumbed to damage or just simply require an update, the obvious choice would be to go to the manufacturer for a replacement. However, this isn't always the best solution. In some cases, the fireplace company is no longer in business or has ceased production on a certain model. In other situations, the manufacturer sends a stock door that is prefabricated to the original dimensions of the fireplace or inserts. Even though it may not be visible to the naked eye, the structure of your heating application may shift ever so slightly over time due to use and temperature changes. Therefore, a prefab door will never be an exact fit.

Your best bet is to get a custom-made replacement door for your fireplace or insert, and it just so happens that we specialize in this area! Our American employees dedicate their knowledge and incredible talents to making our doors better than the stock versions from the manufacturer, or ones that you may find at a hardware store. (Keep in mind, also, those store models will not fit zero clearance fireplaces no matter what guarantees they may offer!) A custom-made door is designed according to the measurements you submit, even to the smallest eighth of an inch, so that it will fit your fireplace even better than a pre-fab model!

Once your order has been placed, we submit your measurements and style preferences to our fabricators who are located throughout the United States of America. Depending on the style you prefer, your door may originate from South Carolina or Wisconsin, as each area specializes in specific fireplace door creations! Please keep in mind that our custom handiwork will take some time to complete. They are crafted from high-grade steel or extruded aluminum so that they are guaranteed to withstand years of enjoyment. Glass is precision cut to guarantee an exact fit within the frame of each door.

Finally, these products go through rigorous quality control tests to ensure that they are capable of withstanding extreme temperatures from wood or gas burning fires. The entire fabrication process takes 4-8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design. While this may seem like too long a wait time, remember that these doors are made by the hands of our hardworking American employees. Quality and perfection sometimes take longer to achieve, but are worth it in the long run!

Having a fireplace door that was personalized to fit a particular need makes each creation an extraordinary masterpiece. We take pride in every one of our handcrafted products, knowing that our valued patrons are expecting something that they can cherish, enjoy, and show off for years to come. From our most affordable styles to the most luxurious, Fireplace Doors Online is dedicated to customer satisfaction!
