This cast iron fireback features a beautiful scene of winter fun and romance under the constellation of Orion. Pictured in this winter wonderland is a three children enjoying the frozen stream with ice skates, a horse and carriage, a rabbit hiding just above the horizon, and a lone duck walking across the frozen water, and last but not least, a wonderful snowman. To prevent rust during transportation, this fireback is coated in a water-based matte black paint. Some minor defects may be visible which are inherent from the sand casting process, but do not worry as these are easily removed with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper. To cover up bare spots in the paint, you can use the (sold separate) stove polish. This polish can also be applied yearly to achieve a new look. If you want to position this fireback upright, leaning slightly backwards, or slightly forwards, instead of leaning it against the back wall of your fireplace hearth, then you can use the unique (sold separate) Safe-T-Boots. These fireback feet are compatible with a wide variety of fireplace log accessories including wrought iron grates, cast iron grates, fire-dogs (andirons), or gas log systems!
