Resembling a simple pineapple design of the decorative art style in the Georgian Period (1714-1800), this cast iron fireback will fit beautifully inside any fireplace. The pineapple design was popular with makers of decorative items in this time period, as it was also a symbol for hospitality. This fireback is coated in a matte-black water based paint which might contain slight chips of imperfections. These are easily removed by burning them off with over time after a season of use. If an immediate finish is desired then you can use the stove polish (sold separate) right before use. Additionally, you can apply the polish yearly to keep it looking new! Position this fireback upright, leaning slightly back, or leaning forward at a number of different angles against the fireplace hearth wall with the uniquely designed Safe-T-Boots (sold separate). These feet are  compatible with a number of different fireplace hearth accessories including wrought iron grates, cast iron grates, andirons (fire-dogs), or a gas log system!
