Description

This cast iron firebacks arched top and extremely detailed border are characteristics which separate it from more traditional American style firebacks. Joesph Webb was an iron merchant back in the 1780s. A trading card was included with the many items he sold and this card was engraved by Paul Revere. History aside, this fireback is painted in a matte black water-based finish which may have slight imperfections from the sand casting process. These flaws are easily removed from a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper! If there are bare spots on the metal you can cover them up with the (sold separate) Williams Stove Polish. You can also use this polish annually to give it a neat new look! If you want this fireback positioned upright, forwards, or backwards, then you can use the uniquely designed (sold separate) Safe-T-Boots! These fireback feet are also compatible with plenty of fireplace log accessories including: cast and wrought iron grates, andirons, and gas log systems. DO NOT: Expose the fireback to coal fires Expose the fireback to water Use with a "Wall of Fire" type grate or lean burning logs up against the fireback  Safe-T-Boots Specifications: Width: 2 1/2 Inches Depth: 8 1/4 Inches Weight: 11 Pounds Material: Cast Iron Steps: 1 1/2 Inches | 2 Inches | 2 1/2 Inches | 3 Inches This fireback will not fit the lowest step  Product Manual: Joseph Webb Stag Antique Design Pennsylvania Fireback .
