Description

This cast iron fireback features arguably one of the most well-known comets, which appears only once every 75 years. This fireback pays homage to the night that this comet crossed the celestial equator, entering the constellation of Aquarius, the water bearer, on the night of New Years Eve in 1985. To prevent rust during transportation, it is covered in a black-water based paint to prevent rust during transportation, which could show chips or imperfections. These are easily removed by burning them off over time after a season of use. Standing this fireback upright, leaning slightly back, or even leaning forward at a number of different angles against the back wall of the fireplace hearth is possible with the unique Safe-T-Boots. These feet are compatible with wrought iron or cast iron grates, andirons, or a gas log system!
