Description

This elegant cast iron fireback tells a story of an old turtle climbing onto a log to bask in the warm sunrise, causing two dragonflies to fly about. This causes a large mouth bass to jump out of the water, heading to eat the dragonfly. Little does the bass know, there is two soaring eagles in the background looking for their next meal. The fireback is painted in black-water based paint to prevent rust. This paint may be chipped or imperfect, which will burn off in the fireplace after a season of use. Stove polish can be applied before use (if an immediate finished look is desired), and yearly to keep the fireback looking new. This fireback is hand made in the USA and is an original design by J. Del Conner, one of the first American Fireback artists of the modern era. The Safe-T-Boots features a unique step design which allows for the fireback to be held either leaning slightly back, upright, or lean forward at a umber of different angles against the back wall of the fireplace hearth. They can be used with any wrought iron grate, cast iron grate, andirons (fire-dogs), or a gas log system! DO NOT: Expose the fireback to coal fires Expose the fireback to water Use with a "Wall of Fire" type grate or lean burning logs up against the fireback.
