Description

Recreating history, this fireback mimics the design originally casted in 1775 at the first two Aetna Furnaces in New Jersey. It also features a rooster on the front, which was a popular decorative element in the late eighteenth century. The rooster had long been a symbol of victory. This fireback features a water-based black matte paint which helps prevent rust during transportation. This paint finish may show slight imperfections, but don't worry about them as they are easily removed with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper! If there are any bare spots on the metal, you can cover them up with the (sold separate) stove polish. This polish may also be applied yearly to achieve a new look! Position this fireback upright, slightly forwards or backwards with the unique (sold separate) Safe-T-Boots, or simply lean it against the rear wall of your fireplace hearth. DO NOT: Expose the fireback to coal fires Expose the fireback to water Use with a "Wall of Fire" type grate or lean burning logs up against the fireback  Safe-T-Boots Specifications: Width: 2 1/2 Inches Depth: 8 1/4 Inches Weight: 11 Pounds Material: Cast Iron Steps: 1 1/2 Inches | 2 Inches | 2 1/2 Inches | 3 Inches This fireback will not fit the lowest step  Product Manual: Antique Aetna Rooster Pennsylvania Fireback .
