Description

This fireback was created to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Great Seal which features an American Bald Eagle. The fireback is filled with symbolic references to the seal such as "Be Liberty Thine", olive branch, arrows, 13 stars behind the eagle for the 13 original colonies, with 37 more bringing the total number of stars to 50 for the 50 total states. Lastly, behind the eagle is six major and six minor rays piercing out from behind the clouds. The fireback is coated in a water-based matte black paint to help prevent rust during transportation. This finish might contain slight imperfections which are inherent from the sand casting process, which are easily removed with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper. If there are bare spots, you can hide them with the (sold separate) stove polish. This polish can also be applied yearly to keep the fireback looking new! You can keep this fireback positioned upright, leaning slightly back, or leaning forwards at a number of different angles against the back wall of the fireplace hearth with the uniquely designed Safe-T-Boots (sold separately)! You can use these feet with a number of different fireplace accessories including cast iron/wrought iron grates, andirons, and even gas log systems.
