Made by hand in the USA, this cast iron fireback features a star pattern and is designed to be used by itself or with others side by side to fit a variety of fireplace sizes! This fireback is coated with a water-based matte black paint. This is to help prevent it from rusting during the transportation process. Slight imperfections may be visible from this coating, however, they are easily removed with a wire brush, sand paper, or steel wool. You can also cover up any bare spots on the metal with the (sold separate) stove. This polish can also be applied annually to give a nice new look! You can lean this fireback against the rear wall of your fireplace, or a better option is to use the (sold separate) uniquely designed Safe-T-Boots. These feet allow for the fireback to be positioned upright, leaning slightly backwards or forwards, plus they are compatible with cast iron grates, wrought iron grates, and gas log systems!
