This mylar stencil sheet for arched masonry fireplaces serves as a template for recording the physical shape of your firebox opening. Due to the nature of arched fireplaces, a highly accurate representation of the opening must be submitted in order for us to build your arched fireplace glass doors so that they fit perfectly. Typically, an overlap fit door is preferred for arched fireplaces. This is mainly due to the irregularities of the fascia (rough stone or other uneven surfaces). An overlap fit enclosure lays over these inconsistencies and provides a crisp, symmetrical appearance of the fireplace. It is also easier to mount this type of fireplace door to the opening because the tolerances are less critical. In some cases, an inside fit door may work with an arched firebox opening. However, gaps between the door and the opening will need to be filled with buff, black, or gray fireplace mortar. You'll receive a clear mylar sheet, a black Sharpie marker to trace the fireplace opening, instructions, and your order form. If the measurements you submitted for your arched fireplace door are larger than normal, we may include more than one mylar sheet.
