No need for filler and it will save you money since now you only need the amount of glass or lava rock to fill the pan. The flat pan is constructed from sturdy 304 stainless steel. The flat style pan is perfect to rest on a ledge or bracket. The welded hub nipple makes it easy to connect the gas line or a fire ring (sold separately). Keep in mind if you build your fire pit with propane to provide enough airflow by keeping the fire pit open. No worries about the rain due to weep holes along the bottom of the rim.
