The All Glass Appalachian fixed pane fireplace glass door is designed for masonry type see through fireplaces. The idea behind this product was inspired by some of the Fireplace Doors Online customers who were looking for an enclosure without an operable door for one opening of their double sided wood fireplaces. While sealing an entire side of a see through unit is not safe or recommended, our fixed panel replacement fireplace door offers a 1/4 inch air gap between the frame and the door to allow the appropriate amount of air into the firebox. This configuration takes the place of a damper and maintains that "closed off" look that some homeowner's prefer. What's most important about this solution is that it abides by fire safety codes. For access to your firebox or for regular cleaning of the glass, simply pull out the bolts in the door hinges so that you can open or remove the panel. Remember to let your fireplace cool down before attempting to do this! This low profile masonry fireplace door is laser cut from 14 gauge flat steel. The main frame can be customized in your choice of powder coat and overlay finish colors to match the doors on the opposite side of your see through unit. The fixed panel is equipped with tempered safety glass in your choice of clear, bronze, or grey tints. Please note: this door is recommended for see through fireplaces in which a log grate is utilized for burning wood AND is situated far enough away from the fixed panel so that the flames do not touch the glass.
