With 4" legs, it allows for optimum air circulation underneath the logs that are cradled within your grate. You can add the optional Char Guard for a more consistent burn and easier clean out. A minimum of a 3 inch gap from the grate to the inner walls on all sides is recommended. Please Note: The black finish on this fire pit grate is heat and weather resistant. We also recommend the add-on of the Char Guard which improves complete burn consistency and makes clean out easier.
