Hammered Edge Custom Masonry Door - DS

Each aspect of the Hammered Edge door is worthy of the high standards of a master craftsman. Unique Old World finishes including Rustic Black and Forged Iron punctuates the forged steel frame of the Hammered Edge door. Your choice of artisan details including hinges and handle styles unique to the Hammered Edge door.
Doors can be ordered with bi-fold foldback or twin options. Glass is available in clear, bronze, gray, blue and beveled. You can get mesh curtains (not available on arches) or gate mesh panels.
Legend Doors have a 1-1/2" frame standard. 1" & 2" frames are also available at no additional charge. Hidden draft assemblies are included on all doors unless otherwise requested. 1-1/2" mortar lip standard on all Legend Doors.

Frame Depth: 3/16" = Amount of frame protruding from fascia into the room
Recessed Depth: 1-1/2" = portion that fits inside the opening when installed as an overlap fit

Doors are strictly masonry doors and are not intended for Zero-Clearance (prefabricated) fireplaces. These doors are also not intended for vent free fireplaces or fireplaces with vent free gas logs.

NII02.4.3 Fireplaces
New wood burning masonry fireplaces shall have gasketed doors and outdoor combustion air.
After contacting the ICC and HPBA, we wanted to provide clarification on this code:
• Masonry fireplaces ONLY - the code applies to NEWLY CONSTRUCTED masonry, wood burning fireplaces ONLY. It does not apply to existing masonry fireplaces.
• Does not apply to factory built/zero clearance fireplaces - factory built fireplaces (Icon 80, Georgian, Exclaim, etc.) are not included in this code
• Reason for gasket is to reduce energy loss when fireplace is not in use - the ICC & HPBA have clarified that the purpose of the gasket on the doors is to reduce the amount of energy lost up the chimney when the fireplace is not in use. It is also meant to improve indoor air quality by reducing the number of pollutants entering the home by the chimney. It is NOT meant to create an air tight or sealed door to use when burning.
Some cities and townships have adopted this new code over the past few months and want to ensure that we provide a gasketed door option for you that is effective and inexpensive.

The gasket for these doors is a silicone gasket that is installed between the outer frame and the door frame. When the doors are closed, the silicone gasket creates an incredibly tight seal which reduces energy loss up the chimney.
